The hotel has said the SIAE tax rate for live music is €406.47. (22% VAT included) + € 15.00 for case management. Is this normal?

Nope. If you are only having live music on your big day and you have less than 200 guests, then you are being definitely overcharged (probably the hotel likes to keep a commission).

As of 2017, the official costs for live music are (excluding VAT):

  • less than 200 people: €199,00
  • more than 200 people: €299,00

Please also consult our knowledge base article regarding the SIAE permit for additional information and how to obtain it yourself.

Next We have one or two singers in the group that I am sure would only love to get up & sing a song or two with you if this was allowed?
